Oh my Grandmas snickerdoodles sounds a tad wrong doesn’t it? They are in
fact a biscuity cake like treat that my beloved enjoys and as you may have
already guessed his Grandma makes them for him. I somewhat bravely and perhaps
stupidly have gotten the recipe of Grandma and spent the past few weeks trying
to perfect the recipe. It not a hard recipe but it is one that you need to be
careful with your measurement to make sure they work out. What I do really like
about this recipe is it is simple low cost ingredients and it make a great big
pile perfect for sharing which is what I will be doing this weekend.
Snickerdoodles
2 1/4 cups plain flour
2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon bi-carb
1/2 teaspoon salt
225gr soft butter
1 cup caster sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Step one: Cream butter and sugar.
Step two: Add eggs one at a time and vanilla.
Step three: Add sifted dry ingredients, mix until combined.
Step four: roll into small balls then roll the ball in a
mixture of 2 tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon nutmeg and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
Step five: Place on lined tray, allow room on tray for spreading. Bake in a
moderate oven for approximately 10min or until lightly brown.
